OTHS bounced back from first losing season in school history with one of the best seasons in school history. The team set many school records, won the SWC conference, Regional Championship, and was ranked as high as #5 in the state. It was the first time ever that the Panthers received a national ranking (#39).

OTHS won its 2nd consecutive Regional Championship by defeating conference rivals Belleville East and Collinsville, before losing to Edwardsville in the IHSA Sectionals.

OTHS won its 3rd consecutive Regional Championship by defeating Collinsville, before losing to Quincy in the IHSA Sectionals in a thrilling 4OT game. It was the first year a team from Illinois won the CYC tournament, and defeated St. Louis power SLUH. The Panthers were ranked among the best in Illinois, Midwest, and US as well as maintaining a top ranking in the Belleville News-Democrat and top 3 in the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
